One thing that I do love about Janome is the wonderful user friendly features they install on their embroidery machines. One of may all time favourites is the cornering and colour sorting tools. They really make creating projects so much more easier, who doesn’t love the idea of reducing your colour changes.
Firstly, you will need to turn on your Janome Mc15000 and put it into embroidery mode. Next you will need to select the embroidery design icon on the screen.
Once you have the design page open you will see that you are automatically opened into the World of Embroidery Folder, but this is not where we need to be so you will need to select the flower icon from the top left corner on the page, this will take you back a step so you can then view all the built-in folders available in the machine.
From the list of folders you will need to scroll through to the second page and select the Abstract Designs folder.
Once you have located the folder and opened it, you will need to scroll through the list of designs until you reach the second page. On the second page you will need to select embroidery design #23. This will be the design that we are using to show you how to use the features on your Janome MC15000 and the reason it simply that I like this design. In other words yes you can use these tools for other designs both built-in on you machine or designs you have downloaded.
When you have selected the design the machine will automatically take to back to the ready to sew screen. Now that we have chosen the design you will need to select the home icon at the bottom left of the screen.
When the home screen appears you will need to select the edit icon.
When you are in the edit screen, the first thing you are going to do is change the hoop size. The current hoop size for this design is set at SQ4 but because we are going to copy this design another three times so that we will create our own unique design, we will need to change the hoop size to the SQ23. To completed this task select the hoop icon from the list on the right side of the screen and select the SQ23 from the list of hoops. Once you have changed the hoop size you will need to drag the design to the top left corner of the hoop.
Now that we have the design where is needs to be in the hoop, you will see that the design is too big to fit neatly four times inside the hoop space. So you will need to go ahead and decrease the design. To complete this task select the increase/decrease icon from the list.
When you have selected the increase/decrease icon a new screen will open up and you will be able to decrease the design to 90%. Press OK to that screen will close and you will go back to the edit screen. Once you have decreased the design you will now be able to see that it fits neatly into the top left corner of the hoop.
Now is when the fun part starts. On the right hand list of icons, scroll down until you see the cornering icon. It is the icon that looks like four hearts in side a hoop. Click on the icon and let the magic happen.
You will now see that the design has been copied evenly into all four corners of the hoop. That is how easy this feature is. The next set is to colour sort the four designs so that you will have only 6 colour changes and not 24 colour changes. From that same list of icons, scroll down until you see the icon that looks like four colour blocks with two cotton reels underneath. Select the icon and let the magic begin.
You will know when it works because a second screen will open up with just the four design blocks, go ahead and press Ok.
You will know when the machine has completed this task because you will be taken back to the ready to sew screen. You have now colour sorted your design and are ready to start stitching.
